notice_summary_english: his project is for the design and reconstruction of approximately 15m length of Scrithwaite Wood Retaining Wall on the C5008, North of Broughton Mills.
The existing wall has partially collapsed, with an adjacent length being in an unstable condition. The wall retains approximately 2.1m (max) of land (public highway) above a steep inclined slope. The collapsed section of the wall has created a residual slope of consolidated material with a 1m vertical slope of exposed natural gravel material below the defined road construction.
The Contractor will be required to undertake the role of Principal Designer & Principal Contractor and fulfil their obligations in accordance with CDM 2015.
The Contractor will be required to design and construct the permanent engineered highway retaining wall.
The Contractor will be required to design and check temporary works as required e.g. provision of shoring for excavation.
The Contractor should consider the design period required for the temporary and permanent works, including Technical Approval to CG300 and Design & Check Certification - considered to be a Category 0 structure.
