Challenge Fund for Agriculture (CFA) - Ministry of Agriculture & Lands, Forestry, Marine Resources & Cooperatives operates in Grenada.
Agriculture (CFA)
Equipment costs will be subsidized with refund grants of up to 50% for the following:
• Upgrade of existing or new drip and micro sprinkler irrigation systems
• Rainwater harvesting systems
• Shade-houses
• Hydroponic Systems
Implementation Arrangements:
1. Expression of interest communicated by interested Farmers to their
District Extension office or the Grenada Development Bank.
2. Audit conducted by the approved irrigation expert in conjunction with
the assigned Extension Officer / Extension Assistant
3. Recommendations agreed between the Irrigation Expert and the Farmer on
the activities to be undertaken
4. Equipment procured and installed by the Farmer
5. Installation inspected and certified by the Irrigation Expert
6. Refund grant processed by the Grenada Development Bank
Grant Eligibility Criteria
1. Farmers must be registered with the Ministry of Agriculture
2. Where farmlands are not owned, a lease arrangement must be in place
3. Farmers must be willing to implement the recommendations of the water
audit as designed
4. Purchase and installation of equipment is to be carried out by the Farmer
prior to the disbursement of the grant.
5. Approval and certification of the installation by the Irrigation Expert is
a prerequisite for grant disbursement
