GENERAL PROCUREMENT NOTICE

GOVERNMENT OF SIERRA LEONE
INFRASTRUCTURE DEVELOPMENT PROJECT
Project I.D.: P078389

The Government of Sierra Leone intends to apply for a credit from the International Development Association (IDA) in the amount of approximately US$ 38.0 million equivalent toward the cost of the Infrastructure Development Project ( IDP), and it intends to apply the proceeds of this credit to payments for goods, works, related services and consulting services to be procured under this project.

The project will include the following components:
Component 1: Roads

Rehabilitation and strengthening of the Bo/Kenema and Makeni/Matotoka highways; government improvement of feeder roads in 3 districts and supervision of the above works. Technical assistance and studies to support sector management reforms.

Component 2: Freetown Port:

Extension of container stacking area, procurement of environmental and safety equipment. Technical assistance for SLPA commercial/management reform relating to restructuring to a landlord port.

Component 3: Freetown International Airport

Costs effective runway pavement overlay, and widening of turning loops. Provision of navigation support equipment. Extension of Airport water supply, and enhancing electricity back-up requirements. Supervision of the above works

Procurement of contracts financed by the credit will be conducted through the procedures as specified in the World Bank’s Guidelines: Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits, May 2004; and is open to all bidders form eligible source countries as defined in the guidelines. Consulting services will be selected in accordance with the World Bank’s Guidelines: Selection and Employment of Consultants by World Bank Borrowers, May 2004.

Specific procurement notices for contracts to be bid under the World Bank’s international competitive bidding (ICB) procedures and for large-value consultants’ contracts will be announced, as they become available, in Development Business and Development Gateway.
