INVITATION FOR BIDS
TARABA STATE MINISTRY OF HEALTH
HEALTH SYSTEM DEVELOPMENT PROJECT – 11
CREDIT NO: 3653 – UNI
IFB NO: TR/ HSDP II / ICB / CW/001.
Bid Issue date: 9th June 2005
Last Date of Bids Submission: 4th August 2005.

1.This invitation for bids follows the general procurement notice for this project that appeared in Development Business, issue NO: 608 of 16th June, 2003.

2.The Federal Government of Nigeria has received a credit from the International Development Association (IDA) toward the cost of Taraba State Health System Development Project II, and intends to apply part of the proceeds of this Credit to payments under the contract for provision of Comprehensive Health Centres at Lau, Donga and Baissa.

3.The Taraba State Health System Development Project II now invites sealed Bids from eligible bidders for the under listed construction works.

Lot 1:
(i)Reconstruction and conversion of defunct SDP LGA Party office to an Out Patient Department, Maternity and Theatre of a comprehensive Health Centre.

(ii)Construction of Mortuary and Generator House.
Bid security is NGN 600,000.

The Location is the Defunct SDP LGA party office Lau. Completion Period is 16 Weeks.

Lot 2:
Construction of wards at the LGA Defunct SDP party office in Lau, bid security is NGN 550,000, completion period is 16 Weeks.

Lot 3:
Construction of staff quarters and X-ray unit at the Defunct SDP LGA party office Lau, bid security is NGN 550,000 and completion period is 16 Weeks.

Lot 4:
Reconstruction and conversion of an old clinic under construction to an Out patient Department, Maternity, and Theatre in Donga, bid security is NGN 600,000 and completion period is 16 Weeks.

Lot 5:
Construction of Senior staff quarters and mortuary in Donga, bid security is NGN 350,000 and completion period is 16 Weeks.

Lot 6:
Construction of junior staff quarters and generator house in Donga, bid security is NGN 300,000 and completion period is 16 Weeks.

Lot 7:
Construction of Senior staff quarters and mortuary in Baissa, bid security is NGN 350,000 and completion is 16 Weeks;

Lot 8:
Construction of junior staff quarters and generator house in Bassa, bid security is NGN 300,000, completion period is 16 Weeks.

Lot 9:
Provision of bole holes (geophysical, drilling/casing & installation)Provision of overhead tank and connection of facility to overhead tank after test running at Lau, Baissa, Donga and school of Health Technology, Takum. Location is at Lau, Baissa Donga and School of Health Technology Takum, bid security is NGN 650,000 completion period is 16 Weeks

4.Bidders may Bid for one or more lots. Evaluation will be on lot-by-lot basis or combination of lots. Award shall also be on lot-by-lot basis or combination of lots. The Project shall give consideration to the combination that is most economical to the Employer.

6.Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from Taraba State Health System Development Project II, Essential Drugs Programme Premises, Behind Taraba State Broadcasting Service office (TSBS) Complex Jalingo – Taraba State, and inspect the bidding documents at the address given below from 9: 00 am – 4: 00 pm, Mondays – Fridays.

7.A Complete set of bidding document in English may be purchased by interested bidders on submission of a written application to the address below and upon payment of a non-refundable fee of Fifteen thousand Naira only (N15, 000).

8.The method of payment will be by Cash or bank draft. Bidding document will be available from 9th June 2005.

9.Bids must be delivered to the address below on or before 10:00 AM on Thursday, 4th August 2005 accompanied by a bid security as per table above. Or an equivalent amount in a freely convertible currency. Late bids will be rejected.

10. Bids will be opened in the presence of bidders or representatives who choose to attend at the address below.
