Procurement of Medical Equipment and Furniture

IFB No.IFB/ODHSDP II/ICB 002

This Invitation for bids follows the General Procurement Notice for this Project that appeared in dgMarket of May 27th, 2003.

The Federal Government of Nigeria has received a credit from the International Development Association toward the cost of Ondo state Health System Development Project II and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of this credit to payments under the contract for the supply of medical equipment and furniture.

The Ondo State Health System Development Project II now invites sealed bids fron eligible and qualified bidders for the supply of medical equipments and furniture as specified below and in the schedule of requirements:

Lot 1 = CSSD/Surgical Instruments - bid security N190,000 or USD 1,400;
Lot 2 = Laboratory Equipment - bid security is N650,000 or USD 4,800;
Lot 3 = Consulting Rooms Equipment - bid security is 150,000 or USD 1,100;
Lot 4 = Dental Equipment - bid security is 305,000 or USD 2,250;
Lot 5 = Infant Care Equipment - bid security is 380,000 or USD 2,750;
Lot 6 = Mortuary Equipment - bid security is 360,000 or USD 2,650;
Lot 7 = X Ray Equipment - bid security N500,000 or USD 3,700;
Lot 8 = X Ray Darkroom Equipment N600,000 or USD 4,400
Lot 9 = Stainless Steel Holloware - N180,000 or USD 1,300
Lot 10 = Ward Furniture -bid security N650,000 or USD 4,800
Lot 11 = General furniture - bid security N530,000 or USD 3,900
Lot 12 = Theatre Equipment - bid security 650,000 or USD 4,600

Medical Equipment and furniture shall be delivered at the Central Medial Stores, Akure no later than 120 days from the award of contract (s). Bidders may bid for one or more lots and discounts offered for the award of combined lots would be considered in bid evaluation.

Bidding will be conducted through the international competitive Bidding (ICB) procedures specified in the World Banks Guidelines: Procurement Under IBRD Loand and IDA Credits and is open to all bidders from eligible source countries as defined in the Guidelines.

Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from the Project Office, Room 309, 3rd Floor, Ministry of Health, State Secretariat, Alagbaka, Akure.

Qualifications requirement include technical, financial, legal and other requirements. A margin of preference for eligible national contractors shall be applied. Additional details are provided in the bidding documents.

Bids must be delivered to the address below at or before 30th June 2005 at 12 noon. Electronic bidding will not be permitted. late bids will be rejected. Bids will be opneded in the presence of the bidders representatives who choose to attend in person at the address below at 12 noon on 30th June 2005.

There will be a prebid opening meeting on Thursday June 16th 2005 at 12 noon at the Conference Room 2nd floor, Ministry of Health, State Secretariat Alagbaka, Akure.
