Expressions of Interest

THIS NOTICE HAS BEEN UPDATED -- PLEASE NOTE THE DATE FOR SUBMISSION OF EXPRESSIONS OF INTERESTS HAS BEEN CHANGED TO JULY 30, 2004.

This request for expressions of interest follows the general procurement notice for this project that appeared in Development Business No. 632 of 16 June 2004.

The Government of Bosnia and Herzegovina has received a credit from the International Development Association (IDA) and intends to apply part of the proceeds of this credit for the Engineering design services for landfill rehabilitation and expansion of Ramici landfill at Banja Luka Region, contract no. BA-SWM-QCBS-008-S-04-3672-BOS/BL.
Solid waste has been disposed on open dump on the Ramici site for a number of years causing serious environmental degradation. The services should provide technical, economic and environmental solution to build up a lined sanitary landfill to minimize environmental degradation and include:

§ Hydro-geological / geotechnical investigation
§ Design for the reconstruction of the existing waste landfill
§ Lined expansion area, conceptual design, operations and environmental monitoring plan, etc.

Implementation period should be 6 months.

The J.P. DEP-OT Banja Luka now invites eligible consultants to indicate their interest in providing the services. Interested consultants must provide information indicating that they are qualified to perform the services (brochures, description of similar assignments, experience in similar conditions, availability of appropriate skills among staff, etc.). Consultants may associate to enhance their qualifications.

A consultant will be selected in accordance with the procedures set out in the World Bank’s Guidelines: Selection and Employment of Consultants by World Bank Borrowers , January 1997, revised September 1997, January 1999, and May 2002.
Interested consultants may obtain further information at the address below during office hours from 9.00 to 16.00 hours (local time).

Expressions of interest must be delivered to the address below by July 30, 2004.
