SELECTION OF CONSULTANTS BY THE BANK’S BORROWERS
REQUEST FOR EXPRESSION OF INTEREST

FEDERATIVE REPUBLIC OF BRAZIL

State Pension Systems Reform Technical Assistance Project

CONSULTING SERVICES (Reference Number: 40-2827/2004)

LOAN Nº. 4369-BR

1. The Federative Republic of Brazil applied for a Loan from the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development and intends to apply part of the proceeds of this loan for payments under the contract for development of the State Pension Systems Reform Technical Assistance Project referring consultants to the bring up to data base of the public agents in the states of Alagoas, Amazonas, Bahia, São Paulo, Minas Gerais, Maranhão, Rondonia and Roraima, in compliance with the Election and Act of contract of Consultants for Borrowers of the World Bank.

2. The Services understand the act of contract of companies/instituitions that have conditions to assume the responsibility for the execution of the activities foreseen in the Terms of Reference. The company contracted institution will have, amongst other actions: to elaborate the new registration of servers, to bring up to data base, auditorship and implementation of the module tip of the System of Welfare Information, inside of the target of actions foreseen in the State Pension Systems Reform Technical Assistance Project, in the states of Alagoas, Amazonas, Bahia, São Paulo, Minas Gerais, Maranhão, Rondonia and Roraima.

3. The Ministry of Social Security now invites eligible consultants to indicate their interest in providing the Services. Interested consultants must provide information indicating that they are qualified to perform the Services (brochures, description of similar assignments, experience in similar conditions, availability of appropriate skills among staff, etc.). Consultants may associate to enhance their qualifications.

4. A consultant will be selected in accordance with the procedures set out by the World Bank’s Guidelines: Selection and Employment of Consultants by Bank Borrowers, January 1997 (revised September 1997, January 1999). Selection based on Quality Technique and Customs (SBQC).
