FOR CONSULTING SERVICES

SIERRA LEONE – WATER AND POWER PROJECT

This request for expression of interest follows the general procurement notice for this project that appeared in UN Development Business and dgMarket on April 1st 2004.

The Government of Sierra Leone has received a credit from International Development Association (IDA) and intends to apply part of the proceeds for consultancy services. The services include Financial & Engineering Management Consultancy Services to the Sierra Leone Water Company (SALWACO) for a period of four years assisting the company in an efficient and timely preparation and implementation of the rural water supply component under a World Bank credit. The firm should be familiar with the standard Bank Project preparation and implementation in timely and effective manner for the World Bank. The Project Financial Management and Engineering consultancy services will assist SALWACO in building a robust capacity toward the development of procurement capacity, and supervision, monitoring and evaluation capacity in the water supply and sanitation sector and report periodically to the World Bank progress of the project at field level

SALWACO now invites eligible consulting firms to indicate their interest in providing the services. Interested firms must provide information indicating that they are qualified to perform such services (brochures, description of similar assignments, experiences in similar conditions, availability of appropriate skills among staff, etc.). The firm may associate to enhance their qualifications.

A firm will be selected in accordance with the procedures set out in the World Bank’s procurement guidelines, which can be found in the web site: www.worldbank.org, under “Business Opportunities e’ Procurement/Tender e Guidelines and Policies e Consultant Guidelines e Consultant’s Qualification Method.”

Interested firms may obtain further information at the address below during office hours (0900 to 1700 hours)

Expression of interest must be delivered to the address below by
10:00 hours on June 17, 2004.
