SPECIFIC PROCUREMENT NOTICE

Republic of Croatia - Health System Project
IBRD Loan No. 45130 HR
Supply of Equipment for Emergency Medical Service Training Centers
Contract No. II-7-1-ICB


1. This invitation for bids follows the general procurement notice for this project that appeared in Development Business, issue no. 517 of August 31, 1999, and update of September 30, 2002 (Issue No. 591).

2. The Republic of Croatia has received a loan from the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development toward the cost of Health System Project, and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of this loan to payments under the contract no. II-7-1-ICB for the Supply of Equipment for Emergency Medical Service Treining Centres. The current closing date for the loan is June 30, 2004 and the Government of Croatia has requested the IBRD for additional 12 months extension till June 30, 2005.

3. The Ministry of Health of the Republic of Croatia now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for supply of Equipment for Emergency Medical Service (EMS) Training Centers consisting of the following Lots:

Lot A. Adult Mannequins pcs 72
Lot B. PediatricMannequins pcs 24
Lot C. AED Trainers pcs 24

Bidders are invited to bid for one lot, a combination of lots, or all lots. Bid evaluation will be carried out on a per lot basis. Bids for incomplete lots will be rejected.

4. Bidding will be conducted through the international competitive bidding procedures specified in the World Bank’s Guidelines: Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits, and is open to all bidders from eligible source countries as defined in the Guidelines (January 1995; Revised January and August 1996, September 1997, January 1999).

5. Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from the Project Management Unit and inspect the bidding documents at the address given below from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Zagreb time, on working days.

6. A complete set of bidding documents in English language will be available starting from December 15, 2003 and may be purchased by interested bidders on the submission of a written application to the address below and upon payment of a nonrefundable fee of HRK 700, or USD 100. The method of payment will be direct payment to specified account no. 2390001-1500001797 for payments in HRK or account no. 7020-840-4489 in the Raiffeisen Bank Austria d.d. Zagreb (Swift code: RZBHHR2X) for payments in USD. The document will be sent by airmail for foreign delivery and surface mail for local delivery.

7. Bids must be delivered to the address below at, or before 14:00 p.m. Zagreb time, January 12, 2004. All bids must be accompanied by a bid security of HRK 35.000 (thirty five thousand) for Lot A; HRK 13.000 (thirteen thousand) for Lot B, and; HRK 2.500 (two thousand five hundred) for Lot C, or an equivalent amounts in a freely convertible currency. Late bids will be rejected.

Bids will be opened in the presence of the bidders’ representatives who choose to attend at the address below at 14:15 p.m. Zagreb time, January 12, 2004.
