Applications are invited for Channel Maintenance Dredging Works 2010-2011 and Capital Dredging for Extension of Turning Basin Abreast QICT, at Port Qastm Area from the International Dredging Firms / Companies having sufficient experience of execution of dredging works. Maintenance dredging volume to be dredged is 4.00 million cum *20% (approx), through deployment of Trailing Hopper Suction Dredger of minimum hopper capacity of 12.000 cum. Extension of turning basin is to be earned out by deploying a cutter suction dredger capable of dredging upto 20m depth with discharge of dredged material at offshore designated dumping site. Capital dredging to be conducted as per the methodology given in tender document and volume is 4.0 million cum ± 20% (approx). 2) Interested Firms / Companies may obtain Tender Documents for Channel Maintenance Dredging Works 2010-2011 and for Capital Dredging for Extension of Turning Basin Abroad QICT. comprising of the Pre-qualification, Valid Bid Documents and Vol III — Financial Proposal — Bill of Quantities, from the office of Director Genera) (Technical) on payment of Rs 10.000/- (Rupees ten thousand only) or equal US $117/-, (non-refundable) in shape of Pay Order / Bank Draft in favour of PQA on any working day during office hours within 15 days alter advertisement. Documents shall only be issued to the authorized representatives of the firms / companies. The soft copy of these documents may be downloaded after advertisement published in press, from PQA website www.portqaslm.orq.pk for preliminary reference and preparatory work only. 3) The tender documents requested by mail will be promptly dispatched by courier mail for which additional cost of Rs 10000/- (Rupees ten thousand only) or equal US $117/- may be added to the above amount. The application must clearly state "Request for Tender Documents for Channel Maintenance Dredging Works 2010-2011 and Dredging for Extension of Turning Basin Abreast QICT. Duly completed Tender Documents with relevant proof of experience In the relevant field in two separate sealed envelopes containing (Technical and Financial Proposals) along with Rs 10000.000/- (Rupees ten million only) or equal US Sr 17000/-, as Earnest Money with Technical Proposal in shape of Pay Order in favour of Port Qasim Authority or an un-conditional and irrevocable Bank Guarantee as specified In contract documents, Issued by a scheduled Bank having its branch in Karachi and having AA-rating. shall be submitted in the office of Director General (Technical), Port Qasim Authority by 1100 hours on 7th October. 2010. The Technical Proposal shall be opened on the same day at 1130 hours In the Conference Room of Administration Building No. I. POA in the presence of representatives of firms who may wish to be present. 5) The Financial Proposal of the technically qualified firms / companies shall be opened in the presence of their representatives. The date and time for opening of Financial Proposal will be communicated later. Financial Proposal of only those firms will be opened who are declared technically qualified. 6) A pre-bid meeting shall be held on 30th September, 2010. The venue and lime will be intimated to the prospective bidders separately. 7) A joint venture submitting a bid shall be required to provide No Objection Certificate from the Competition Commission of Pakistan (CCoP). 8) Port Qasim Authority reserves the right to accept or reject any or all applications and no claim whatsoever in this regard shall be entertained. Authority's decision In this respect shall be final and binding on all firms / companies.
