International Competitive Bidding Expression of Interest (EOI) Invitation for Prequalification - Design, Build, Operate and Maintain the Bahrain Intelligent Transportation System (BITS) In an effort towards realization of aspirations of the National Economic Strategy-2030 to ensure quality transport infrastructure in the Kingdom of Bahrain, Ministry of Works intends to deploy wide range of Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) strategies for surveillance, monitoring and control of traffic and goods to improve the efficiency and safety of the network and ensure effective integration with other transport infrastructure. Ministry of Works seeks responses from suitably qualified and internationally experienced firms/joint ventures to design, supply, install, manage, operate and maintain the ITS technologies for an initial period of 10 years. Respondents to this invitation must meet the following minimum eligibility criteria:  Technical: Must have successfully completed at least 3 contracts in fields related to this contract in the past 6 years.  Financial: Average Annual Turnover must exceed USD 30Million in the past 3 years Salient features of the project and prequalification questionnaire can be accessed on in the „Prequalification Category for Road Works‟ section of our website: http://www.works.gov.bh/default.asp?action=category&id=17. Interested Firms/Joint Ventures are requested to submit their EoIs at the address mentioned below by 1400Hrs on 31st October, 2010. Please note that the EoI submissions must include the completed questionnaire, a brief outline on the technical and project management experience available with the firms/joint ventures to deliver the requisite tasks along with the other support documents, as prescribed in the invitation.
