Medical Physician - Health Service Officer

The purpose of this Request for Proposal (RFP) is to obtain the services of a Medical Physician who will be required to manage and direct all aspects related to occupational health to determine fitness for duty for RCMP HQ regular police officers as well as civilian members in the context of specialized work related assessments.
Proposals will be evaluated using mandatory criteria. To be considered responsive, a proposal must meet all the following criteria.

Mandatory Criteria
Bidders must meet the following Mandatory Criteria in order to be considered to be compliant:

M1 The Physician must be licensed with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO); in this regard, the license number must be provided

M2 The Physician must have been in good standing with the medical licensing bodies in the provinces/territories in which demonstrated services were provided within the last five (5) years; in this regard, provide a letter from the licensing bodies attesting to the physician’s good standing and provide the physician’s license number for the province and/or territory worked.)

M3 The Physician must provide proof of valid professional liability insurance for third party expertise assessments according to the requirements of the Canadian Medical Protective Association

M4 The Physician must have a minimum of three (3) years demonstrated experience as a medical practitioner (with a minimum of one (1) year experience performing Occupational Health evaluations on law enforcement and/or military personnel or the equivalent in part-time cumulative experience.

M5 The Physician must provide a detailed resume containing education, work history and other relevant details, which clearly indicate that the individual meets the qualifications as specified above.


The period of the contract will be twelve (12) months from the date of Contract award.

The Request for Proposal (RFP) closes on September 22nd, 2010 at 2:00pm EDST.
