SECTION II: OBJECT OF THE CONTRACT
II.1) TITLE ATTRIBUTED TO THE CONTRACT BY THE CONTRACTING ENTITY

II.3) SHORT DESCRIPTION OF THE CONTRACT OR PURCHASE(S)
Bord Gais Eireann intends to commence a competition to appoint a suitable
networks services and works provider to undertake construction and
maintenance services / works within the transmission and distribution
areas of the company.
Bord Gais Eireann is undertaking a networks transformation programme. A
requirement of this programme is to appoint a suitably experienced and
competent networks services and works provider to support Bord Gais
Eireann.
It is expected that the successful tenderer will be required to undertake
some or all of the following services / works for the networks division of
Bord Gais Eireann, covering both the transmission and distribution
networks;
Networks construction services.
— Distribution main laying activities,
— Distribution steel skid manufacture and supply,
— Transmission AGI works.
Networks emergency response services.
— Distribution emergency response,
— Transmission emergency repair.
Networks maintenance services.
— Distribution maintenance,
— Transmission maintenance,
— Transmission and distribution communications & instrumentation field
services.
Networks site work services & related activities including meter
replacement.
Networks meter reading.
Telecommunication services.
Provision of technical and administrative personnel.
It is envisaged that the above services / works will begin to be provided
by the successful tenderer on a phased basis of upto one (1) year.
It is currently anticipated that the duration of the contract to be
entered into with the successful tenderer is 10 years with an option for
termination of the contract at the end of the fifth year.
It is the intention of Bord Gais Eireann to publish an OJEU notice on
e-tenders shortly.

of the competition.
