The Great Lakes Acquisition Center (GLAC) in Milwaukee, WI intends to negotiate on a sole source basis (IAW FAR 13) with Medical Solutions, Inc, 3901 Center View Drive, Suite L, Chantilly, VA 20151-3229, as the only source that provides a 3 Liter Bag Warming System used for warming various fluids like I.V fluids or various fluids of the body. Medical Solutions, Inc has the only product that has monitors and displays the actual fluid temperature of each bag, monitors and displays the actual time the bag has been warming, rapidly warms three liter bags in about an hour, the documenter assists in compliance with regulatory standards and fluid manufacturers' recommendations, and provides Time/Date Stamp Technology, it has the capacity of holding (8) 3000 ml bags, and lastly the locking cabinet assists in compliance with regulatory standards. This vendor is the only one that makes an irrigation warmer for a 3 liter bag of fluid. Specifically, the contractor shall provide the following: - Complete Warming System (Part #8N1, Quantity 1); This acquisition is being conducted under simplified acquisition procedures (IAW FAR 13). There are no set-aside restrictions for this requirement. The intended procurement will be classified under North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) 334510 with a Small Business Size Standard of 500 employees. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals and no solicitation document exists for this requirement. However, parties interested in responding to this notice will need to submit technical data sufficient to determine capability in providing the same product. All capability statements received within 5 days after publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Capability statements shall be submitted by email only as a MS Word or Adobe PDF attachment to Scott Ivy at scott.ivy@va.gov Statements are due by 12:00 CST 07 September 2010.
