The National Science Foundation intends to solicit and award an extension to NSF Contract PRSS-0612746, on a sole-source basis, to Air New Zealand, Limited for continued planned depot level maintenance (PDM) and unscheduled depot level maintenance (UDLM) of 10 ski-equipped LC-130 aircraft operated and maintained by the Department of Defense for logistical support to the NSF in accordance with Presidential Memorandum 6646. An increased performance period of 12 months is anticipated, from January 1, 2011 through December 31, 2011, at an estimated value of $6,000,000. Based upon the information available at this time, the Government considers Air New Zealand, Limited to be the only responsible source per the statutory authority at 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1). Within 15 days from the date of publication of this notice, all responsible sources may submit a capability statement which shall be considered by the NSF. NSF will consider whether or not the source is qualified and able to perform the required services for the stated period without adversely affecting the NSF mission in Antarctica.
