This invitation forprequalification follows the General Procurement Notice for this project that appeared in Development Business of 6 ^th October 2008 on-line and inDG Market.

The Republic of Poland has received a loanfrom the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) and the Council ofEurope Development Bank (CEB) toward the cost of the Odra River Basin Flood Protection Project, and it intends to apply part of theproceeds of this loan to payments under the contract for A1-1 Construction of Raciborz Dry Polder. 

The Raciborz Dolny dry polder as essential part of the Odra flood-protection system (which includes also amongothers the already existing Polder Buków) and the further essential component "Modernization of the Wroclaw Floodway System" shallbe realized and implemented till the end of year 2015. For location of the reservoir has been defined a section of the Odra valleyfrom the road bridge in Krzy#anowice # Buków (km 33 + 580 of Odra r.) to the flow break up from Racibórz (km 46 + 300 of Odra r.).The shape of the reservoir has been selected in such a way that it shall interfere to a minimum degree with the already existingtechnical infrastructure in this region.

Thetechnical characteristic data of the polder are:

Itis   expected that invitations for bid will be made in December2010.

Prequalification will beconducted through prequalification procedures specified in the World Bank's Guidelines:Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits, May 2004, and is open to all bidders from eligible source countries,as definedin the guidelines.

Interested eligible applicantsmay obtain further information from and inspect the prequalification document at the     Regional Authority for Water Management in Gliwice   (address below) from   07.00 # 15.00. A complete set of the prequalification document in English and Polish may be obtained by interested applicants on the submission ofa written application to the address below [free of charge]. The document will besent by post.

Applications forprequalification should be submitted in sealed envelopes, delivered to the address below   by 1.00. pm.   on 27 ^th of October 2010,and be clearly marked "Application to Prequalify for     Odra River Basin Flood Protection Project, Works contract  number: OFRPP A1-1 Construction of Raciborz Dry Polder"
