The National Hansen's Disease Programs (NHDP), a division of DHHS/HRSA/BPHC, is conducting a Sources Sought/Market Survey to determine the existence of businesses capable of providing 16 nursing home beds for Hansen's Disease patients with options for an additional two beds.

The Government is seeking capability statement from organizations who can provide the required labor, facilities, materials and supplies including private rooms, meal and nutrition service, recreation service and patient assistance services (such as bathing, housekeeping, medication dispensing, laundry, etc.) to provide long term care/nursing home care for patients with Hansen's Disease (a.k.a. leprosy). Facilities must meet state and federal requirements governing such facilities, and be within 45 minutes of the Government's HDC medical treatment facility to allow patients to receive their specialized medical care at that facility. Organizations must have the ability to deliver these services by October 1, 2011. It is expected that the Government would be interested in entering into a multi year agreement. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this requirement is 623110 and the small business size in dollars is $13.5M.

Potential sources/interested parties are requested to provide a description of their current capabilities, including but not limited to current space available, amenities and/or demonstrate plans to obtain the resources necessary to provide these requirements. Interested parties are requested to provide the following information: (1) Company name, point of contact, physical address, e-mail address, telephone and facsimile numbers, and type and business size; (2) Current space available and planned expansions; (3) Amenities and services currently provided or planned to provide; (4) Age of the facility (5) Name of principals to contact, including title and telephone number; (6) Current price list. Documentation may include both Government and commercial contracts, references (names, telephone numbers and email addresses) and any other information serving to document the organization's capability. The submission must also include the small business size status.

This Sources Sought is for information and planning purposes and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government. This request is for the sole purpose of identifying potential sources and does not commit the Government to issuing a solicitation or making an award. This is not a solicitation announcement for proposals and no contract will be awarded from this announcement. All information submitted is at the respondent's own expense.
