This Invitation for Bids follows the General Procurement Notice for thisProject that appeared in Development Business, August 17, 2007 2. The Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia has received credit fromthe International Development Association (IDA) toward the cost of Urban water Supply and Sanitation Project (UWSSP) and intends to apply part of the proceedsof this credit to payments under the Contract for lot 1: supply of DCI pipes, Fittings and its accessories; and lot 2: uPVC Pipes, Fittings and itsaccessories. 3. The Jimma Water Supply and SewerageService Enterprise now invites sealed bids from eligible and qualified bidders for thesupply of pipes and fittings specifies in the two lots. The delivery period is 90calendar days. Partial Bids will not be accepted. 4. Bidding will be conducted through the International Competitive Bidding(ICB) procedures specified in the World Bank's Guidelines: Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits, and is open to all biddersfromEligible Source Countries as defined in the Bidding Documents. 5. Qualifications requirements include an experience of at least two suppliesand delivery of pipes and fittings of similar nature and scope of the lots, an average turnover of twice the contract price of thepipe and fittings during the last three years, and a healthy financial standing during the last three years. A margin of preferencefor certain goods manufactured domestically shall not be applied. Additional details are provided in the Bidding Documents. 7. A complete set of Bidding Documents in English language may be purchased by interested bidders on the submission of awritten Application to the address below and upon payment of a non refundable fee ETB 500.00 (Birr five hundred Only). The methodof payment will be CPO Cheque. The Bidding Documents will be delivered to authorizedrepresentativeof the Bidder upon payment of the non refundable fee stated above. 8. Bids must be delivered to the address below at or before 14th October 2010; 2:30 pm. Electronic bidding will not be permitted. Late bids will be rejected. Bids will be opened in the presence of the bidders'representatives,who choose to attend in person or on-line at the address below at 14th October 2010; 2:40 pm.
