NASA/DFRC has a requirement to purchase a maintenance work platform constructed ofscaffolding (SAFWAY brand name or equal). This OSHA rated scaffold platform must have thecapability to support personnel and equipment, from working areas around and at the topof a B747-SP aircraft. Requirement includes all associated documentation, hardware, andcompetency person training class for scaffolding utilization and installation, compliantwith Sections 3.0 through 5.0 of the SOW. All hardware requirements must be in compliancewith OSHA Regulation 29 CFR 1926.451-52 and OSHA Regulation 29 CFR 1910.28-29 and/or haveOSHA approved certifications/qualifications. As an optional cost saving measure the design may incorporate existing surplus governmentowned SAFWAY brand hardware and scaffolding which will be provided at no-cost to theprospective bidders. A site visit may be arranged for bidders to view the existingsurplus hardware and scaffolding for September 8-10, 2010. The DFRC 735-1 Visit RequestForm must be filled out 72 hours prior to visit. This announcement constitutes the onlysolicitation, which is issued as a Request for Quotation (RFQ); quotes are beingrequested and a written solicitation will not be issued. Offerors are required to usethe On-Line RFQ system to submit their quote. The On-line RFQ system is linked above orit may be accessed at http://prod.nais.nasa.gov/cgi-bin/eps/bizops.cgi?gr=C&pin= . The information required by FAR Subpart 12.6 is included in the on-line RFQ.The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12 and the SimplifiedAcquisition Procedures set forth in FAR Part 13.Questions regarding this acquisition must be submitted in writing (e-mail is preferred)no later than 4:30 p.m. local time on September 14, 2010. Quotes/Proposals are due nolater than 4:30 p.m. local time on September 17, 2010. It is the quoter's responsibilityto monitor this site for the release of amendments (if any).
