REQUEST FOR EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST

This request for expression of interest follows the general procurement notice for this project that appeared in UN Development Business, Issue no. 772 dated April 16, 2010 and in UNDB online on March 29, 2010.

The Government of Georgia has applied for financing from the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) toward the cost of the Regional and Municipal Infrastructure Development Project (RMIDP) Additional Financing, and intends to apply part of the proceeds for consultant services for Local and Municipal Road Design and Construction Supervision Advisor.

MDF is seeking the assistance of an internationally qualified consultant to provide urban road design and construction supervision advice. The objectives of the assignment are to: (a) Assist the MDF in assessing the original and revised designs of road sub-projects; (b) Conduct detailed construction supervision oversight of the construction contracts; (c) Make recommendations for improving the urban road design guidelines. The duration of services is about 2.5 months. The consultant shall be a civil engineer with at least 15 years international experience in urban road design and road construction.

The Municipal Development Fund of Georgia (MDFG) now invites eligible consultants to indicate their interest in providing the services. Interested consultants must provide curriculum vitae (CV) indicating that they are qualified to perform the services (description of similar assignments, experience in similar conditions, availability of appropriate skills, etc.).

A consultant will be selected in accordance with the World Bank's Guidelines: Selection and Employment of Consultants by World Bank Borrowers, May 2004, revised October 2006 and May 2010.

The selection method is: Selection of Individual Consultants.

Expressions of interest must be delivered to the address below by September 10, 2010.
