This Invitation for Bids follows the General Procurement Notice for this Project that appeared in Development Business, Issue no. 770 of March 16, 2010. 2. The Republic of Armenia has received a loan from the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development toward the cost of Lifeline Roads Improvement ProjectAdditional Financing, and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of this loan to payments under the Contract for Procurement ofFalling Weight Deflectometer (FWD) for Armenian Roads Directorate. 3. The Transport Projects Implementation Unit State Institution of Ministry of Transport and Communication of the Republic of Armenianow invites sealed bids from eligible and qualified bidders for the supply ofFalling Weight Deflectometer. 4. Bidding will be conducted through the International Competitive Bidding (ICB) procedures specified in the World Bank's Guidelines: Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits (May 2004, revised October 2006), and is open to all bidders from Eligible SourceCountries as defined in the Guidelines. 5. Qualifications requirementsinclude: i) The Bidder must be as minimum three years inthe business of manufacturing/supplying Falling Weight Deflectometer (FWD) ii) TheBidder must provide verifiable information on at least 2 similar contracts for supply of Falling Weight Deflectometer (FWD)successfully performed by him within last two years. The information must include: supplied goods description, purchaser/clientname, purchaser/client representative name, address, phone/fax number, e-mail. A margin ofpreference for certain goods manufactured domestically shall not be applied. Additional details are provided in the BiddingDocuments. 7.
