REQUEST FOREXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST (CONSULTANTSERVICES) Egypt Sustainable POPs Management Project POPS CONSULTINGSERVICES Project Name: Sustainable POPs Management Project Project ID No. P116230 GEF Grant No: TF094530 The Ministry of State for Environmental Affairs/ EgyptianEnvironmental Affairs Agency, on behalf of government of Egypt [has received project preparation grant ( PPG) grant from the Global Environment Facility (GEF) to helpprepare a POPs project document in cooperation with the World Bank as being theimplementing agency for the project and intends to apply part of the proceeds for consultantservices under the grant for Sustainable POPs Management Project. The purpose of the service is A) to elaborate the technical aspects of the project so as to fill gapsandprovide a sound, cost-effective basis for the project B) To facilitate a smooth and earlystart to project implementation by undertaking initial capacity building work. The services include a)Policy Strengthening toassist EEAA to prepare action plan for Pops management till 2015, b) Capacity Building activities including capacity assessment andcapacity development plan for the project including institutional set up required for implementation, c) Development of anInventory and Tracking System including review and prepare a tracking system for hazardous waste including Pops to be implementedby the project, Management of Obsolete Pesticide Stocks, PCBs, and dioxin and furans from industrial sources the three maintechnical components of the project , The MSEA/EEAA now invites eligible consultants to indicate theirinterest in providing the services. Interested consultants must provide information indicating that they are qualified to performthe services (brochures, description of similar assignments, experience in similar conditions, availability of appropriate skillsamong staff, etc.). Consultants may associate to enhance their qualifications. A consultant will be selected in accordance with the proceduresset out in the World Bank's Guidelines: Selection and Employment ofConsultants by World Bank Borrowers May 2004, revised October 2006 and May2010.
