Subject: RFP for the organization of an International Study Tour for the staff of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry and selected consulting companies (max 8 people) to learn international experience in implementation of KAIZEN system in enterprises.

You are requested to submit a proposal for the organization of an International Study Tour to the EU country or Japan that has experience of implementing KAIZEN system in companies for the period of 5 working days (excluding days of arrival and departure) during October-November 2010, as per enclosed Terms of Reference (TOR).

Brief description of the project

Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan is actively involved in introducing quality management systems in enterprises of Uzbekistan. The Chamber has initiated and continues to take some steps for the development of management systems in Uzbekistan within the framework of implementing the measures Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On additional measures to improve implementation for enterprise quality management system conforming to international standards" adopted in 2009.
The Chamber aims at increasing the competitiveness goods and services produced by domestic enterprises, increasing export capacity and implementing quality management system in private enterprises conforming to international standards.
With the purpose of providing consultancy services to SMEs related to introduction of modern management systems, Chamber has successfully implemented KAIZEN management system in 6 enterprises of Uzbekistan and trained 12 local consultants on how to implement KAIZEN system in local enterprises.
Abovementioned activities, which are being implemented in cooperation with United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and German Technical Cooperation (GTZ), are aimed at increasing the availability of quality consulting services, as well as raising awareness among the business sector about effective management tools and principles of implementing KAIZEN/Lean Production management system.
It is proposed that a study tour the group of 6-8 professionals will be organized in October-November 2010 to learn foreign experience in practical application of KAIZEN management system in enterprises.
The purpose of this RFP is to organize and conduct an International Study Tour for the staff of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry and selected consulting companies to learn international experience in implementation of KAIZEN system in private companies.
