REPUBLIC OF AZERBAIJAN PUBLIC INVESTMENT CAPACITY BUILDING PROJECT CREDIT No: 4595 AZ SERVICES ON PROVISION OF TRAINING ON"SPECIFIC GEOTECHNICAL FEATURES IN AZERBAIJAN" Request for Expression of Interest The Republic of Azerbaijan has received financing from the World Bank towardthe cost of the Public Investment Capacity Building Project, and intends to apply partof the proceeds for consultant services. The purpose of this training program is to ensure road sector's ability to effectively understand special geotechnical features in Azerbaijan, how to takethese into account in planning, design and maintenance phases. The main objective ofthis assignment is to provide introductory training on specific geotechnical features in Azerbaijan. Qualifications required : The training provider shall be a reputable consulting orother suitable type of firm or entity with extensive experience in road sector andproven capacity and success in road sectortrainings. The trainers shall have suitable educational background and at least 5 years of experience and goodtrack record in the relevant field and training. Experience in Azerbaijan will be an advantage. Fluency in spoken and writtenAzerbaijani and/or English/Russian/Turkish languages is considered an advantage. I mplementation period and place : September-November 2010, Baku, Azerbaijan The Ministry of Education of the Republicof Azerbaijan now invites eligible consulting firms to indicate their interest in providing the services. Interested firms mustprovide information indicating that they are qualified to performthe services (brochures, description of similarassignments, experience in similar conditions, availability of appropriate skills among staff, etc.). Aconsulting firm will be selected in accordance with the Consultants' Qualifications selection method procedures set out in the World Bank's Guidelines: Selection andEmployment of Consultants by World Bank Borrowers (May 2004, revised October 2006).
