REPUBLIC OF AZERBAIJAN PUBLIC INVESTMENT CAPACITY BUILDING PROJECT CREDIT No: 4595 AZ SERVICES ON PROVISION OF TRAINING ON"INTRODUCTION TO CONCRETE PAVEMENT MAINTENANCE" Request for Expression of Interest The Republic of Azerbaijan has received financing from the World Bank towardthe cost of the Public Investment Capacity Building Project, and intends to apply partof the proceeds for consultant services. The purpose of this training program is to ensure road sector's ability to effectively maintain its concretepavement roads. The main objective of thisassignment is to provide the training participants with understanding and knowledge of maintenance of concrete pavements throughouttheir life cycle, including planning of concrete roads, selection of routine and periodic maintenance activities, work methods,costs, and quality assurance. Qualifications required: The training provider shall be a reputableconsulting or other suitable type of firm or entity with extensive experience in concrete roads maintenance and proven capacity andsuccess in concrete pavement maintenance training. The trainers shall have suitable educational background and at least 5 years ofexperience and good track record in the relevant field and training. Experience in Azerbaijan will be an advantage. Fluency inspoken and written Azerbaijani and/or English/Russian/Turkish languages is considered an advantage. Implementation period and place: September-December 2010, Baku, Azerbaijan The Ministry of Education of the Republic ofAzerbaijan now invites eligible consulting firms to indicate their interest in providing the services. Interested firmsmust provideinformation indicating that they are qualified to perform the services (brochures, description of similar assignments,experience in similar conditions, availability of appropriate skills among staff, etc.). Aconsulting firm will be selected in accordance with the Consultants' Qualifications selection method procedures set out in the World Bank's Guidelines: Selection andEmployment of Consultants by World Bank Borrowers (May 2004, revised October 2006).
