TEACHEREDUCATION IMPROVEMENT PROJECT GENERAL PROCUREMENT NOTICE COUNTRY: West Bank and Gaza NAME OFPROJECT: Teacher Education Improvement Project #Education Sector GENERAL PROCUREMENT NOTICE Project IDNo: TEIP # P 111394 The Palestinian Liberation Organization for the benefit of thePalestinian Authority has applied forfinancing in the amount of US$5 million from the World Bank toward the cost ofthe Teacher Education Improvement Project, andit intends to apply part of the proceeds to payments for goods and consulting services to beprocured under thisproject. The project will include the following components: Component 1: Strengthening "school based practice" of pre-service teacher education programs. Component 2: Upgrading academic and professional teaching qualification of under-qualified class teachers Component 3: Implementation Support Opportunities to provide the following services shall be open tointernational consultants - Technical assistance to strengthen the school based practice of pre service teacher education program forgrades 1-4.
- Technical Assistance to upgrade professional teaching qualification for under qualified class teachers forgrades 1-4.
Procurement of contracts financed by the World Bank will beconductedthrough the procedures as specified in the World Bank's Guidelines: Procurement under IBRD Loans andIDA Credits (dated May 2004,revised in October 2006 and May 2010) and is open to all eligiblebidders as defined in the guidelines. Consulting services will be selected inaccordance with the World Bank's Guidelines: Selection and Employment ofConsultants by World Bank Borrowers (dated May 2004, revised in October 2006 and May 2010). Specific procurement notices for contracts to be bid under theWorld Bank's international competitive bidding (ICB) procedures and for contracts for consultancy services will be announced, asthey become available, in UNDevelopment Business and dgMarket Interested consultants who wish to receive a copy of specificadvertisements requesting expressions of interest for consultancy contracts, or those requiring additional information, shouldcontact the address below.
