Specific Procurement Notice For Prequalification ofContractors

for

Routine &Periodic Maintenance of the Amran - Hajah Road andRoutine & Emergency Term Maintenance of 300 Km of Rural Roads in the Amran and Hajah Governorates 

This invitation for prequalification follows thegeneral procurement notice for Rural Access Project Phase II Additional Financing that appeared in the United NationsDevelopment Business issue No.WB4901-765/09) on December 4 ,2009.

The Government of the Republic of Yemen has obtainedadditional financing from the International Development Association (IDA) towards the cost of the Second Rural Access Project, andintends to apply part of the proceeds of this additional financing to payments for the execution of routine & periodicmaintenance for the Amran - Hajah road (62Km) and for routine, occasional periodic, and emergency term maintenance for 300 Km ofrural roads in the Amran and Hajah governorates .

The Ministry ofPublic Works and Highways represented by the Road Maintenance Fund (RMF) now intends to prequalify interested contractors for theexecution of the above works which would be awarded in one contract.

Pre-qualification will be conducted throughpre-qualification procedures in accordance with the World Bank Guidelines, and is open to all bidders from eligible sourcecountries as defined in the guidelines.

Interested firms may obtain the prequalificationdocuments at the address below, during regular business hours from 09:00 AM to 2:00 PM. alternatively, the prequalificationdocument can be sent to interested firms via e-mail, upon request sent to the following e mail address:  ybrmf@y.net.ye 

Applications for pre-qualification should be submittedin sealed envelopes, delivered to the address below by 11:00 AM August 28, 2010 and clearly marked: 

"Application to pre-qualify for acontract for the execution of routine & periodic maintenance for the Amran- Hajah road and for routine,occasional periodic, and emergency termmaintenance for 300 Km of rural roads in the Amran and Hajah governorates".
