Consultancy Services for Construction Supervision for
Marin +Land Works at Fishing Port - Hodeidah
PCDP-II Contract # CS 1
1. This request for Expressions of Interest (EOI) follows the General Procurement Notice (GPN) for this project that appeared in the on-line DgMarket No. wb2027-775/10 on May 09, 2010.
2. The Government of Yemen (GOY) has received a grant from International Development Association (IDA) to implement the Second Ports Cities Development Project (PCDP II), and intends to apply part of the proceeds of the grant towards financing the supervision contract for Marine and Land Works Fishing Port - Hodeidah.
3. PCDP II invites eligible consultants to indicate their interest in providing the above service. Interested consultants must provide information indicating that they are qualified to perform the service through provision of brochures, description of similar assignments, experience under similar conditions, and availability of appropriate skills among staff, etc. Consultants may associate to enhance their qualifications, but should indicate clearly in their EOI the lead firm in the event of a joint venture.
4. Brief description of works:
(i) All required preparation works; (ii) the demolition of the old auction hall, a part of the existing administration building and of the south port boundary wall; (iii) The construction of a 75 m long spur breakwater;(iv) The construction of an infrastructure dedicated to the use of a mobile boat hauler; (v) The construction of a landing beach; (vi) The implementation of dredging works for the creation of new port basin and for restoration of depth in the existing basin and access channel and the disposal of the material in an on-shore dumping site; (vii); The construction of a new south boundary wall, of a new port entrance gate; (viii) Pavement works ( new quay apron); (ix) The rehabilitation of the existing wood jetties and the construction of a new one; (xi) The improvement of the fuel station for fishermen; (xii); The supply and installation of marine signalization
5. A consultant will be selected accordance with the procedures set out in the World Bank’s Guidelines: Selection and Employment of consultants by World Bank Borrowers, May 2004 (revised October 2006).
6. Interested consultants may obtain further information from the address below during working hours from 8:00 to 14:00 hours.
7. Expressions of Interest must be delivered to the address below, by 14:00 hours on August 8, 2010.
