This invitation for bids followsthe general procurement notice for this project that appeared in UN Development Business, issue no. 777 of June 30, 2010. 2. The Government of Egypt hasapplied for a loan from the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) toward the cost of Giza North 1500 MWCombined Cycle Power Project, and it intends to applypart of the proceeds of this loan to payments under the contract for the SteamTurbine Generators and Condensers. 3. The Egyptian Electricity HoldingCompany (EEHC) through its affiliate company, Cairo Electricity Production Company (CEPC) now invites sealed bids from eligiblebidders for designing, fabricating, furnishing,delivery to Site, storing, installing, training, testing, start-up, commissioning,placing into successful operation and maintaining until Operational Acceptance Certificate (OAC), preparing of detailed drawingsand Technical documents, preparing as-built documents and putting into service of two 250 MW Steam Turbine Generators andCondensers for Giza North 1500 MW Combined Cycle Power Project. Bidder submitting Bids should have satisfactory past experience in furnishing andinstallation of three (3) Steam Turbine Generators facilities of not less than 150 MW capacity and of similar complexity at 3 powerstations at different locations, one of which is outside Bidder'scountry of origin, within the last 10 years. Each unit must have been in commercial operation for at least 2 years. Different units at the same site awarded as part of one contract do not qualify as separate locations. 4. Bidding will be conducted throughthe international competitive bidding procedures specified in the World Bank's Guidelines: Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDACredits with procedural adaptation, and is open to all bidders from eligible source countries as defined in the guidelines. 5. Interested eligible bidders mayobtain further information from Cairo Electricity Production Company and inspect the bidding documents at the address given belowfrom 09:00 a.m. to 03:00 p.m. Bidders may obtain additional information by contacting CEPC's consultants at thefirst address below. 6. The Bid Document for the abovepackage will be available at CEPC offices on July 28, 2010. A complete set of bidding documents in English language may bepurchased by interested bidders on the submission of awritten application to the address below and upon payment of a nonrefundablefee of USD 1,500. Bidders may receive the Bidding Document against payment receipt of USD1,500 from Suez Canal Bank, Garden City Branch, Cairo, Egypt, Account No. (20117/1). 7. Bids must be delivered to CEPC in the address below at orbeforeOctober 20, 2010, at 12:00 noon Cairo Local Time. All bids must be accompanied by a bid security of USD 2,500,000. Late bids willberejected. Bids Envelope A (Technical Envelope) will be opened in the presence of the bidders' representatives who choose toattend at the address below on October 20, 2010 at 12:00 noon Cairo Local Time. Bids Envelope B (Pricing Envelope) of qualifiedBidders will be opened in the presence of the Bidders' representatives who choose to attend at the same address, at a date and timeto be notified to these Bidders in due time. 8.
