This Specific Procurement Notice follows the General Procurement Notice for this project which appeared on the United Nation Development Business Website on 6th February 2009.

The Government of Lesotho has received a loan and a grant from the African Development Fund towards the cost of LESOTHO ELECTRICITY SUPPLY PROJECT and intends to apply part of the proceeds of the loan to cover eligible payments under the contract for the Construction of Distribution Network- Contract No: LEC/PO-228/22009/11 – Lot A and Lot B under the Lesotho Electricity Supply Project.

The Implementing Agency, Lesotho Electricity Company (LEC), now invites sealed Bids from eligible Bidders for the construction and completion of:

Lot A:
(i) Construction of a new 32 km of 33kV line from Quthing 33 kV substation (LEC) to Mount Moorosi.
(ii) 80 km of distribution MV lines (33 kV) from Mt. Moorosi to Mphaki area and the area along River Quthing.
(iii) 58 distribution transformers and LV lines (0,4 kV) networks in villages near access roads for above referred areas.
(iv) Around 1500 service connections (households, commercial, small industry, administrations, institutions) to the electricity network.
