1. This Invitation for Bids follows the General Procurement Notice for this Project that appeared in Development Business, issue no. WB1203-748 of 17th March, 2009.

2. The Republic of Kenya has received a credit from the International Development Association (IDA) toward the cost of Cash Transfer for Orphans and vulnerable Children intends to apply part of the proceeds of this credit for payments under Contract(s) for NCB No. DCS/G/04/-06-08/FY09-10 Procurement of Information Technology (IT) Equipments

3. The Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Development now invites sealed bids from eligible and qualified Bidders for Supply and delivery of such IT equipments as follows;

Bidders may bid for any one or both lots. Evaluation will be per lot the delivery period will be from 8 to 18 weeks inclusive counted from the point in time when the contract becomes effective
4. Bidding will be conducted through the National Competitive Bidding NCB procedures specified in the World Bank’s Guidelines: Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits, and are open to all bidders from Eligible Source Countries as defined in the Guidelines.5

6. Bidders’ qualifications requirements include: (i) Manufacturer’s authorization (ii) if the bidder is not doing business within the Purchaser’s, the bidder is or will be (if awarded the contract) represented by an Agent in the country equipped and able to carry out the suppliers maintenance, repair and spare parts-stock obligation prescribed in the conditions of contract and/or technical specifications.

7. A complete set of bidding documents may be purchased by interested bidders on the submission of a written application to the address below and upon payment of a non refundable fee of KES 3,000.- or equivalent. The method of payment: Banker’s check in favor of: The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Development. Upon request, bidding documents may be sent by courier service at the recipient’s expense.

8. Bids must be delivered to the address below not later than 14:30 hours on 20th July 2010. Electronic bidding will NOT be permitted. Late bids will be rejected. Bids will be opened in the presence of the bidders’ representatives who choose to attend in person at 14:30 hour’s on 20th July 2010. .

All bids must be accompanied by a “Bid Security” in amount shown below or equivalent in a freely convertible currency;
