GENERAL PROCUREMENT NOTICE ARAB REPUBLIC OF EGYPT EG- Wind Power Development Project -Samalaut/Suez Gulf 500 kV double Circuit OHTL -Technical Assistance Energy Sector Implementing Agency: Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company (EETC) GENERAL PROCUREMENT NOTICE Loan No.: 79270 Project ID No: P113416 The Government of Arab Republic of Egypt has applied for financing inthe amount of US$ 220 millionequivalent from the World Bank toward the cost of the construction of about 280 km Samalaut/Suez Gulf 500kV double Circuit Over Head Transmission Line,and it intends to apply part of the proceeds to payments forgoods, works, related services and technical assistance to be procured under this project. This project will include the following components which are financedby IBRD/CTF: A- Samalaut/Suez Gulf 500kV double-circuit Over Head Transmission Line- about 280 km. For thecomplete construction of the Transmission Line on single responsibility including detailed Design, Supply and Installation, ratebased contract for all components (towers, conductors, insulators, ground wire with fiber optics communication, lightningprotection) and Civil works. Tendering for the transmission line will be based on apreliminary route survey to provide estimated quantities of tower types, foundations, conductors, .. etc, provided by EETC'sconsultant EPS. B- Technical Assistances (TA): 1- TA For the development of the wind BOO program: To provide consultant support to EETC in thecompetitive bidding program for the first 250 MW project. 2-TA to support Management of Wind Power Integration in Egyptian Power Market:Recommending guidelines to the system operator. 3- Consultancy Services for Knowledge Management. Procurement of contracts financed By the World Bank will be conductedthrough the procedures asspecified in the World Bank Guidelines: Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits (current Edition) and Consulting services(technical Assistances) will be selected in accordance with the World Bank Guidelines: Selection and Employment of ConsultantsbyWorld Bank Borrowers (current Edition). Both are open to all eligible bidders as defined in the Guidelines Specific Procurement Notices for contracts to be bid under the World Bank International CompetitiveBidding (ICB) procedures and for contracts for Technical Assistances will be announced, as they become available, in UN DevelopmentBusiness and DgMarket and in the Egyptian El Ahram Newspaper.
