ThisInvitation for Bids follows the General Procurement Notice for this Project that appeared in Development Business, issue no. WB320-696/07 of January 17, 2007 2. The Government of the United Republic of Tanzania has received fundsfrom the DevelopmentPartners toward the cost of Water Sector Development Programme (WSDP) and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of these fundsto eligible payments under the Contract for Supply of Pumping Test Equipment. 3. Bidders may bid for one or two or all the three lots, butin each case bidders must quote for all the items and quantities specified in a lot. Bidders not quoting for all items andquantities in a lot will be considered non responsive and their bids will be rejected. 4. Biddingwill be conducted through the International Competitive Bidding (ICB) procedures specified in the World Bank's Guidelines:Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits, and is open to all bidders fromEligible Source Countries as defined in theGuidelines. 5. Qualifications requirements include: (a) Manufacturer's authorization, (b)a copy of certified financial audit reports of the past two years, (c) documentary evidence to demonstrate that the bidder or hisauthorized local agent has at least three years of experience as a supplier of similar equipment. A margin of preference for certain goods manufactured domesticallyshall not be applied . Additional details areprovided in the Bidding Documents. 7. Acomplete set of Bidding Documents in English may be purchased by interested bidders on the submission of a written application tothe address below and upon payment of a non refundable fee of Tanzania shillings one hundred thousand (Tshs 100,000) or anequivalent amount in freely convertible currency. The method of payment will be either by Cash, Banker's Draft, or Banker's Cheque,payable to Permanent Secretary,Ministry of Water and Irrigation, Dar es Salaam. Bidding Document will be sent by airmail or courierfor overseas delivery and surface mailor courier for local delivery. Ministry of Water and Irrigation will not be held responsibleand accountable for delays or non-receipt of the Bidding Documents. Any authorized person may collect the Bidding Documents fromthe address below. 8. Bidsmust be delivered to the address below at or before 10.00 hourslocal time on 16th July 2010. Electronic bidding will not be permitted. Late bids will be rejected. Bids will be opened in thepresence of the bidders' representatives who choose to attend in person at the address below immediately after deadline for bidssubmission. All bids must be accompanied by a Bid Security of 2% of Bid price payable to the Permanent Secretary Ministry of Water and Irrigation, Dares Salaam. 9.
