6. Description of the contract:
The Ministry of Public Works, Energy and Ports, Commonwealth of Dominica
intends to award a works contract for the drilling of at least 3
geothermal exploration wells to be carried out in Wotten, Waven and Laudat
with financial assistance from the Agence Française de Développement (AFD)
and the 9 EDF ACP-EU Energy Facility (Intra-ACP envelope). The exploration
forms part of a wider project aimed at producing cleaner and cheaper
electricity for the local market and for export via under sea cables to
the neighbouring islands.

ACP–EC Partnership Agreement signed at Cotonou on 23.6.2000 as amended on
25.6.2005 and in 2008 (Annex IV) AFD Financing Agreement.
