1. The Nile Basin Initiative/Nile Equatorial Lakes Subsidiary Action Program (NELSAP) has received grant financing from the African Water Facility Program of the African Development Bank (AfDB) through NBI/NELSAP Water Resources Development sub-Program to finance the “Integrated Management of Transboundary Water Resources of Rweru and Cyohoha lakes and the Akanyaru Marshlands”. It is expected that a part of the grant availed shall be utilized for procurement of consulting services and goods to be acquired in the framework of the project.

2. The principal objectives of this project are to:
(i) Contribute to the reduction of poverty
(ii) Improve shared water resources management in the region of Bugesera particularly around lakes Rweru and Cyohoha and the Akanyaru marshlands.

3. The project includes the following components: (A) Development of Integrated Management Plans of the three water bodies and Diagnostic analysis,(B) Capacity building for beneficiaries, (C) Project coordination and management
