The self-governing City of Rustavi, Georgia, intends using the proceeds of a loan from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development [the Bank] for a project aimed at improving municipal solid waste management situation regards to disposal to a landfill site, to be constructed in accordance with EC Council Directive 1999/31/EC of 26 April 1999 on the landfill of waste, for the cities of Rustavi and Gardabani. The proposed project, which has a total estimated cost of 3.4 million Euro will require the procurement of the following works and goods:
• Works Contract: Civil works related to the construction of the Rustavi Municipal Landfill, including supply and installation of irremovable operation equipment for the mechanical waste separation line
• Supply Contract: Supply of operation and maintenance vehicles for operation and maintenance of the Landfill
Tendering for the above Works Contract is expected to begin in the second quarter of 2010, for the Supply Contract the third quarter of 2010.
Contracts to be financed with the proceeds of a loan from the Bank will be subject to the Bank's Procurement Policies and Rules and will be open to firms from any country. The proceeds of the Bank's loan will not be used for the purpose of any payment to persons or entities, of for any import of goods, if such payment or import is prohibited by a decision of the United Nations Security Council taken under Chapter VII of the Charter of the United Nations or under a law of official regulation of the Purchaser's country.
