The Government of Georgia has applied for a loan from the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) in theamount of US$45 million equivalent toward the cost of the Regional and Municipal Infrastructure Development Project II (RMIDP II)and it intends to apply the proceeds of this loan to payments for goods, works, related services and consulting services to beprocured under this project. The project duration is 4 years and will mainly include thefollowing components: ü Infrastructure investments to Local Municipal Governments,particularly, for rehabilitation of water supply, sewage collection, treatment and sanitation, solid waste collection and disposal, local roads, improvement of drainage systemsand traffic lights ü Institutional strengthening ofmunicipalities, utilities and MDF. Civil works contracts will include variousworks including rehabilitation of municipal water, wastewatersystems as well as local roads. Procurement of goods will include office equipment and vehicles. Procurementof consulting services will include technical assistanceto various utilities and municipalities and design and implementationofcivil works. Procurement of contracts financed by the loan will be conducted through theprocedures specified in the World Bank's Guidelines: Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDACredits, pulished May 2004, revised in October 2006 and is open to all bidders fromeligible source countries as definedin the guidelines. Consulting services will be selectedin accordance with the World Bank's Guidelines: Selection and Employment of Consultants byWorld Bank Borrowers, published may 2004, revised in October 2006.
Specific Procurement Notices for contracts to be bid under the World Bank's international competitive bidding (ICB) procedures andfor large-value consultants' contracts will be announced, as they become available, in Development Business and dgMarket and at least one national newspaper.
