1.
The Government of the Republic of Malawi has received a grant from the European Union (EU) and loan from European Investment Bank (EIB) under the Peri-Urban Water Supply and Sanitation Project and it intends to apply part of the proceeds toward payments under the contract for Supply and Delivery Pipes, Fittings and Various Repair Equipment and Materials as follows:
Lot 1: High Density Polyethylene Pipes and Fittings
Lot 2: Galvanised Pipes and Fittings
Lot 3: Water Meters
Lot 4: PVC Pipes and Fittings
Lot 5: Pressure Reducing Valves
Lot 6: Sluice Valves
Lot 7: Pipe Repair Equipment and Tools
Lot 8: Motor Vehicles
Lot 9: Motor Cycles
Lot 10: Electromagnetic flow meters
The delivery period is between 45 and 120 days.

Bidding will be conducted through the International Competitive Bidding (ICB) a procedure specified in the European Investment Bank's Guidelines to Procurement and is open to all bidders from Eligible Source Countries as defined in the Bidding Documents.

Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from theBlantyre Water Board,Off Makata Road, P.O. Box 30369, Chichiri,Blantyre3. Attention:The Acting Chief Executive. Tel+265 1872000. Fax+265 1872026. E-mail:jluka@bwb.mwand inspect the bidding documents at the address given below from 07:30 to 17:00 hours.

A complete set of Bidding Documents in English may be purchased by interested bidders on the submission of a written application to the address below and upon payment of a non-refundable fee of MK 5 000 or in US\$ 40. The method of payment will be cash or Bank certified cheque at the Blantyre Water Board cash office. The Bidding Documents will be collected by the interested bidder.

Bids shall be valid for a period of ninety (90) days after bid opening and must be accompanied by security of at least 2 % of the bid price and shall be delivered to the Blantyre Water Board, Off Makata Road, P.O Box 30369, Chichiri, Blantyre 3. Malawi, on or before 5thMay 2010 at 14:00 hours local time at which time they will be opened in the presence of the bidders who wish to attend. Electronic bidding shall not be permitted. Late bids will be rejected.
