This is an update of the notice that was publishedin the WB Client Connection on 0315/10.  Please be advised that the reference number (above) has been changed.

1.         This invitation forBids follows the General procurements Notice for this Project that was published in the dg Market on May24,2005(updated on August2,2006)and in the United Nations Development Business (UNDB) Issue No.656,dated June 16,2005(updated on August 4,2006-on-line andprint version Issue No.658,dated August 31,2006).

2.         The Republic of Yemen has received a Credit(No.4172-YEM) from the International Development Association (IDA) toward the cost of the Power Sector Project, and it intends toapply part of the IDA proceeds towards the cost of the Contract for Supply and Installation of High Voltage Over Head Lines,HighVoltage / Medium, Medium Voltage Substations. 

3.         The Public Electricity Corporation now invitessealed bids from eligible and qualified bidders for the Supply and Installation of the following Bid:-

Dhamar Package Sub Components:-

Lot 1:-

132kV Transmission Over Head line from Dhamar(exisiting) BSP 132kV substation to Hizyaz BSP 132kV substation (Sana'a).

Re-route existing 132kV Over Head Line (OHL)double circuit Dhamar/Taizinto & out of new 132/33kV substation at Yarim.

Lot 2:-

Dhamar (existing) BSP 132/33kV substationextension.

Required modifications at Hizyaz BSP 132/33kVsubstation.

Dhamar (existing) BSP 132/33kV substationupgrading.

Lot 3:-

Yarim BSP 132/33kV substation 2x45MVA.

Required modifications at Dhamar BSP 132/33kVsubstation (Dhamar/Taiz-Yarim).

Required modifications at Taiz BSP 132/33kVsubstation (Yarim-Taiz).

Required modification at Ibb 132/33kV T-offsubstation (Yarim-Ibb).

33/11kV 20MVA Substation at Yarim BSP 132/33kVsubstation.

4.         Bidding will be conducted through theInternational Competitive Bidding (ICB) under International Development Association (IDA) procedures, and open to all biddersfromEligible Source Countries as specified in the IDA Guidelines.

5.         Interested eligible bidders may obtain furtherinformation from and inspect document at the address below during official working hours (08:00 hrs - 15:00 hrs) on any working daybetween Saturday through Wednesday.

6.         A complete set of Bidding Document in Englishmay be purchased by interested bidders on the submission of a written application to the project address and upon payment of anon-refundable bidding fee of 150$ (One Hundred and Fifty USD only) for the whole package. A Bidder can bid for one lot or morethan one lot, Upon request the documents could be sent by courier to prospective bidders after transferring the stated amount tothe Project Account No. (1100-12168) SWIFT Code CBYEYESAXXX at Central Bank of Yemen.

7.         The amount of the Bid Security asfollow:-

Lot (1):- US$500,000

Lot (2):- US$60,000

Lot (3):- US$120,000

For All Lots:- US$680,000

9.         The deadline for selling BDs will be on17.05.2010.

10.       Bids must be submitted in sealed envelope, delivered tothe below address at or before 11:00 a.m. hours on 25.05.2010 and be clearly marked with the Bid Number and Bid Title.Late bidswill be rejected.

11.       Bids must be valid for (120) days and accompanied by a bidsecurity of the amount mentioned in the bidding document with validity period of(150) days.

12.       Bids will be opened on the closingdate shown above in thepresence of the bidders or their representatives who choose to attend in person at the address below at 11:00 a.m. hours on25.05.2010.
