NASA/GSFC has a requirement for Maintenance Agreement for Installed CAVE.NASA/GSFC intends to purchase the items from Christie Digital Systems only. ChristieDigital Systems installed a Visualization system called CAVE in 2008. This requirementis to cover the maintenance agreement to maintain the hardware and related software inthe CAVE. This hardware and software is specific to the system that Christie Digitalinstalled and is routinely maintained by their company using tools only their companyemploys.Authority is 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1) Only one responsible source.This procurement will be processed using FAR Part 13 Simplified Acquisition Procedures.The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12.This synopsis shall not be construed as a commitment by the Government, nor will theGovernment pay for the information solicited.Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform theeffort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 4:30 p.m. local timeon March 26, 2010. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for thepurpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and opencompetition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretionof the government.Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice.All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency.An Ombudsman has been appointed.
