Tameside'S connexions service.

II.1.4) Short description of the contract or purchase(s): Tameside MBC
invites suitable experienced and qualified organisations to tender for the
provision of a high quality Connexions Service that will support Tameside
MBC Services for Children and Young People and key partner agencies within
the Children's Trust meet the strategic aims of the 14-19 Education Plan.
Under the governance of Tameside MBC, the successful tender will work
closely with the 14-19 team to develop and implement high quality of
Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG) across the borough.
The successful tender will demonstrate knowledge and application of the
national IAG quality standards and evidence experience of working in
partnership with key stakeholders and service users.
They will have a clear understanding of local priorities and evidence how
they will support the wider Children's Trust arrangements in Tameside.
It is proposed that the contract will commence on 1.4.2010 and will run
for a period of 3 years to 31.3.2013, with the provision to extend for a
further year. The estimated value of this contract in year one is 2 499
106,00 GBP, subsequent years will be subject to Government funding.
The award of the contract will be in keeping with a Best Value approach,
which will jointly evaluate quality factors and price.
Organisations should be aware that Transfer of Undertaking (Protection of
Employment) Regulations 2006 will apply.
The closing date for tender submission is 16:00 pm Tuesday 1.12.2009.
