PROJECT DESCRIPTION: This project is for the construction of Cedar Creek Shooting Range. The work consists of constructing a 100-yard shooting range. The range will consist of a 10-position, 100-yard rifle/pistol range. The backstop berm and both side berms will be earthen mounds, which vary from eight to nineteen feet tall. Existing berms have been constructed. However, berms must be constructed with a 1:1, or 100%, backslope in the weapon firing area and a 2:1, or 50%, backslope on the opposite faces. A vegetative soil stabilization mat will be used to cover all earthern berms upon completion of site work. In addition, all 1:1 slopes will be reinforced with an HDPE Geogrid installed in horizontal layers within the berms. The aggregate parking area will accommodate up to twenty vehicles with 2 concrete van accessible spaces. There will be a concrete accessible walkway which will connect the west end parking spaces to the toilet building and range shelter. The toilet building is not included in this contract. An add-alternate item includes the construction of a shooting shed, including its floor and foundations. Contract time is 120 calendar days. PROJECT LOCATION: Oconee Ranger District, Eatonton, Putnam County, Georgia. OTHER INFORMATION: A pre-bid conference and site showing is scheduled tentatively for April 1, 2010. Details will be in the solicitation. The solicitation will be issued as a sealed bid on an unrestricted basis (open to both small and large businesses). Estimated price range is $100,000.00 to $250,000.00. All potential contractors and subcontractors should register on the solicitation FedBizOpps website to receive notifications and register as Interested Vendors. The online Interested Vendor list will be the only such list maintained for this procurement. Any amendments issued will be posted to the website. Vendors are responsible for checking the website for amendments up to the date and time bids are due.
