The Alexandria VA Medical Center Contracting Office intends to solicit and award a contract for Compensation and Pension Mental Health Examinations for the Alexandria VA Medical Center in Alexandria, Louisiana for a period 7 months from 03/20/2010 through 09/30/2010, plus 4 option years ending on 09/30/2014 under the Health Care Resource Authority, Public Law 104-262, Title 38 U.S.C. 8153, and VAAR Part 873. Services are to be provided at the VAMC located in Pineville, LA and at the Bayne-Jones Army Community Hospital at Fort Polk, LA in accordance with the Statement of Work. Brief description of services: The patient workload is estimated between 80 to 150 examinations per month. The Contractor shall perform Compensation and Pension (C&P) Mental Health examinations, during normal service hours, following the guidelines and criteria of the appropriate Compensation and Pension Examination Program. Appointments will be scheduled between the hours of 8:00 AM until 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday. In some cases, weekend work may be requested. Approximately 8 patients per day will be scheduled in the clinics. The Contractor shall complete VA C&P Mental Health Examinations (Mental Disorder-Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and Review PTSD). The Contractor shall routinely conduct psychological testing including intelligence, memory, and personality testing as part of the examinations to provide objective corroboration of complaints and observations. The Contractor shall review paper and electronic records and incorporate these records into clinical findings for the final C&P Report. The Contractor shall be fully trained, competent, licensed, and board certified or board eligible Psychiatrist or a licensed doctorate-level psychologist. The designated North American Industry Classification Systems (NAICS) Code for this procurement is 621330 with a small business size standard of $7M.
