SUPPLY OF EQUIPMENT AND FURNITURE AND RELATED SERVICES TO THREE SECONDARY SCHOOL
IN MAPUTO AND NIASSA PROVINCES

1. This Invitation for Bids follows the General Procurement Notice for this Project that appeared in Development Business, issue of February, 05, 2009.
2. The Government of Mozambique has received a loan from the International Development Association towards the cost of Mozambique Education Sector Support Program Fast and it intends to apply part of this loan to payments under the Contracts for the supply of Equipment and Furniture and related services for Three Secondary Schools in Salamanga/Matutuíne District (Maputo Province), Lichinga and Macalodje/Sanga District (Niassa Province).
3. The Ministry of Education through the PIU-Diplac-Construções e Equipamentos Escolares, now invites sealed bids from eligible and qualified bidders for the supply of equipment and furniture to be procured by under indicated Lots :

 Sub Lot 1.3- Secondary School Macalodje Lot V - Cutlery and Home Appliances

4. Bidding will be conducted through the International Competitive Bidding (ICB) procedures specified in the World Bank’s Guidelines: Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits, and is open to all bidders from Eligible Source Countries as defined in the Guidelines.
5. Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from the Ministry of Education, Direcção de Planificação e Cooperação –Rua Joaquim Lapa nº22, 3ºandar, and inspect the Bidding Documents at the address given below, from 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM during working days.
6. Qualifications requirements: The Bidder shall demonstrate that possesses a turnover of at least twice the amount of total offer made in its bid and, experience in supply of at least two contracts of similar type and value.
7. A complete set of Bidding Document in English may be purchased by interested bidders on the submission of a written application to the address below and upon payment of a non refundable fee of US$ 50,00 (Fifty Dollars) or equivalent in a freely convertible currency, from February, 26, 2010. The payment should be in cash or direct payment at Banco Internacional de Mozambique (account nº: 20092969 USD or 20092872 MZN). The Bidding Documents will be sent by Express Courier at the bidders.
8. Bids must be delivered to the address below state address at the end of this ITB at or before 10:00 hrs (Mozambique time), on April, 13, 2010. Electronic bidding will not be permitted. Late bids will be rejected. Bids will be opened in the presence of the bidders’ representatives who choose to attend in person or on-line at the address below at 10:15 hrs (Mozambique time), on April, 13, 2010. All bids must be accompanied by a “Bid Security” covering each lot, sub lot or all lots in under indicated amounts or, an equivalent amount in freely convertible currency
- Lot I- USD 1.500,00 (USD 500,00 per Sub lot)
- Lot II- USD 750, 00 ( USD 250,00 per Sub lot)
- Lot III USD 2400,00 (USD 800,00 per Sub Lot)
- Lot IV USD 1.500, 00(USD 500,00 per Sub Lot)
- Lot V USD 2.500,00(USD 500,00 per Sub Lot)
- Lot VI USD 1.000,00(UDS 500,00 per Sub Lot)
- Lot VII USD 1.000,00 (UDS 500,00 per Sub Lot)
- Lot VIII USD 6.000,00 (USD 500, 00 per Sub lot)
