The Precision Engineering Div. at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) has a requirement to conduct research of Optical imaging and characterization techniques of biologically functional nanoparticles as a means of understanding and controlling the cellular uptake and distribution of nanoparticles in living systems. The specific tasks relative to this research are described in the Performance Work Statement included in the solicitation. It is anticipated that the solicitation for this work will be issued on or about Mar. 1, 2010, utilizing FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures. The Government anticipates an award of a fixed price Purchase Order on or about Feb. 26, 2010 with a 9 month performance period. The competitive solicitation, all amendments, and any questions and answers related to this procurement will be made available via the internet at http://www.fedbizopps.gov. The solicitation will only be available via the internet at the above website. Potential offerors are responsible for accessing the website. Interested parties must respond to the solicitation in order to be considered for award of any resultant Purchase Order. There is no written solicitation document available, telephone requests will not be honored, and no bidders list will be maintained. Potential offerors are requested to direct all questions via e-mail to randy.schroyer@nist.gov. To be eligible for award, offerors MUST be registered with the Central Contractor Registry: www.ccr.gov and have completed its representations and certifications found at http://orca.bpn.gov
