Sole Source Notice of Intent - Rees Scientific USA
The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Acquisition Management Division, on behalf of the NIST Hollings Marine Lab, intends to negotiate with Rees Scientific USA. , on a sole source basis under the authority of FAR Subpart 13.106-1 (b), Soliciting from a Single Source, for the purchase of 10 ea. - Thermocouple Amplifier -270 to 50 degrees C with 15 ft. of thermocouple wire, 5 ea. - Connection to switch closure as part of installation, 4 ea. - Installation of Oxygen Sensor 0.1 - 25% Custom Item, non-returnable, 4 ea.- Calibration of new oxygen sensor, includes oxygen bottle and adaptor. The current monitoring system is in use at the NIST Marine Environmental Specimen Bank at the Hollings Marine Laboratory in Charleston, SC. Rees temperature probes and dry contacts will be installed into five new liquid nitrogen freezers and will be added to the Centron system in order to be included in the 24/7 monitoring. The existing four oxygen sensors that are required in the Marine ESB are not working properly and need to be completely replaced. Monitoring system was developed by Rees Scientific and work must be completed by certified technicians. (Parts are custom and Non returnable).

Interested parties that believe they could satisfy the requirements listed above for NIST and are authorized to provide these before March 1, 2010 at 12:00 pm EST. To be considered an affirmative response, vendors must submit written data and documentation which demonstrates their authorization to meet these requirements. This notice of intent is not a solicitation. Information submitted in response to this notice will be used solely to determine whether competitive procedures could be used for this acquisition.
