High Speed Rail Rural Impact Study

At the Fall 2009 Convention of the AAMDC, the membership passed a resolution requesting the AAMDC to complete a study of potential impacts that an Edmonton-Calgary high speed rail line could have on nearby rural municipalities, including, but not limited to growth areas and access management.

This opportunity is open to interpretation by interested proponents. There are many ways of studying this issue to gain the desired deliverables; therefore the AAMDC is leaving the process for study open-ended. Working to complete the study over the course of no more than one year, the successful proponent will work with the AAMDC staff, with approvals from the Board of Directors and identified sub-committee to complete the study.
