This is a notice of intent to modify an existing contract to County of Bell, DBA Bell County Sheriffs Department, 113 W. Central Avenue, Belton, TX 76513 0812, on a sole source basis under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, Only one Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services will Satisfy Agency Requirements, 10 U.S.C. 2304 (c)(1). The proposed procurement is for the housing of special needs Federal (military) prisoners within a 25-mile radius of Fort Hood, TX, for the period 1 March 2010- 30 September 2010. This procurement is Subject to Availability of Funds (SAF). Interested persons need to identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit quotes by 1:00 pm CST, February 23, 2010. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 922140. There is no associated small business size standard. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The Bell County Sheriffs Department is the only known source that has an ideal location and provides for ease of transportation, access by the command, counseling, family visitations, and medical visits. The requirement will be conducted under FAR Subpart 12.
