This synopsis is not a request for quotes or proposals. This is a pre-solicitation notice that a solicitation is scheduled to be released via FedBizOpps (www.fbo.gov)in the near future detailing this requirement. The US Army Corp of Engineers has a need for a material that can be used to establish waterstops along existing monolith joints of concrete dams and navigation locks. The material required is an expanding urethane that comes as a liquid, that can be formed into cylinders of various sizes (generally 4 8-inch in diameter and 4 to 5-feet long), and dropped into a hole drilled along a monolith joint. The solid cylinder then slowly expands under the presence of water to form a waterstop across the joint. The product shall be Adeka Ultra Seal A-30 or an approved equal. 2,068 gallons of material will be required, the material is packaged in 4 gallon units so 517 units are needed. This announcement is for informational purposes only and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government, implied or otherwise, to issue a solicitation or award a contract.
