This Invitation for Bids follows the General Procurement Notice for this Project that appeared in Development Business, issue no. 1919820, August 17, 2007.

The Government of Ethiopia has received a credit from the International Development Association toward the cost of Urban Water Supply and Sanitation Project, and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of this credit to payments under the Contract for Supply of Mobile Water Reservoir.
The Addis Ababa Water and Sanitation Development and Rehabilitation Project office now invites sealed bids from eligible and qualified bidders for the tender “Supply of Mobile Water Reservoir for 25 Production Boreholes”,WB/Re bid-G005/2008.

Bidding will be conducted through the International Competitive Bidding (ICB) procedures specified in the World Bank’s Guidelines: Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits, and is open to all bidders from Eligible Source Countries as defined in the Guidelines.

Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from Addis Ababa Water and Sanitation Development and Rehabilitation Project office procurement and logistics division and inspect the Bidding Documents at the address given below from 8:30 -17:30 hour’s local time.

Qualifications requirements include the supply of structurally suitable steel Mobile Water Reservirs coated by Protective Zinc/Aluminum Alloy coating and lined with impervious membrane that used to contain potable water for human consumption and strong enough to sustain all kinds of pressures and loads the tank is subjected to. The bidder should be a firm, partnership or company duly organized and existing or registered under the laws of an eligible country, and have experience in supply of at least two contracts of similar nature (by the Contract Price) over the last five (5) years. A margin of preference for certain goods manufactured domestically shall be applied. Additional details are provided in the Bidding Documents.

A complete set of Bidding Documents in English language may be purchased by interested bidders on the submission of a written Application to the address below and upon payment of a non refundable fee Birr 300 (Birr Three hundred) or USD 35(USD Thirty five ). The method of payment for local prospective bidders will be in Cash. The Bidding Documents will be sent to local prospective bidders by courier for local delivery. For the foreign prospective bidders who would like to have the bidding documents sent to them by Special Post, an additional payment of USD 100 (USD One Hundred) will have to be made for postage. However, the Project office will not take any responsibility for a late/non delivery of the bidding documents sent by mail. No extension in bid submission date is permitted on this account.

Bids must be delivered to the address below at or before 10.00 a.m. local time on March 30, 2010. Electronic bidding will not be permitted. Late bids will be rejected. Bids will be opened in the presence of the bidders’ representatives who choose to attend in person at the address below at 10.00 a.m. local time on March 30, 2010. Bids must be accompanied by a Bid Security of Birr. Ten Thousand (10,000) Ethiopian Birr for Lot 1, Fifty Thousand (50,000) Ethiopian Birr for Lot2: and Lot3 each or an equivalent amount in a freely convertible currency
